The NamKhan Project is a unique eco destination located a 15-minute drive from the centre of Luang Prabang, a world heritage city. Traditional Lao bungalows and luxury tents are available in front of the NamKhan River throughout your stay. Here, you can find a sustainable organic farm, beautiful botanical gardens, salted rock pool, horse stables, an outside gym, and a playground area. We’ve created a sanctuary whose foundation lies on the timeless grounds of nature, history, tradition, and myth. We are not just a simple hotel. We set an example of responsible and sustainable tourism and believe in the Lao experience of a balanced existence, which is attained through one’s relationship to community and nature.

Combined with our wonderful accommodation, you can enjoy some physical and spiritual activities, feast on healthy and locally produced food, attend organic cooking classes, discover the art of bamboo weaving, relax in the outside massage pavilion, and just let go into the Lao rhythm of living.

The dry season is from October to April and is considered the best time to visit Laos. In December and January, the temperatures are lower and the days can be quite chilly. The months with the most rainfall are from June to September and happen to be the hottest. It’s a unique experience to be in Laos during the monsoon season. As we are located in Luang Prabang and situated in the mountains, the rainy season isn’t too bad compared to other parts of the country.

More than likely, the answer is yes. To get visa information for your country of origin, please consult with your local embassy or consulate.

Naturally, your health is something that is very important. However, just because a country is known to still have some areas where malaria is present, there sometimes isn’t a need for concern. We suggest you contact your local doctor or health organisation for their opinion.

We can easily adapt to all types of special dietary requirements. Our organic farm allows us to have healthy and organic products on our menus. We can, upon request, offer vegetarian, vegan, chaker, and halal meals. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any special dietary requirements.

Pets are accepted on the property. We have the ideal space for your companions to run around and enjoy their experience at the NamKhan Project. Simply note that any damage caused by your four-legged friend can lead to an additional charge if we have to repair or purchase new supplies. A deposit can also be requested at your check-in if you stay overnight on the property. It is not debited, simply requested in the event of damage. Thank you for your understanding.

The staff speak English, French, Spanish, Lao, Thai, and Chinese. Our staff are there to assist you 24/7 during your visit.
